Expressin felings

When we speak about feelings I think about that feelings about any situation that happen in a moment and how we feel.

• Feelings of happiness like thrilled or Delighted I relate when we see a person and feel good, or when we receive a gift. I remember when My mother gift me a rabbit I was  very Thrilled. 

• Feelings of unhappiness: Is when we feel unhappy gor one thing or for a person. As upset or Miserable. I felt that way when I lost an test or course. This feelings is when something bad happens.

• Neither happy nor unhappy: Indifferent or uninterested this type of feelings is when something or a person that we do not care, or do not give importance.

• Feelings of scared: As Terrified or petrified. Ist a feeling when something we scared when something frightens us. When I think in that feeling I relate when I watch an scared movie or when a person scares me. I remember whwn I was in the high school I was walk and a thief stole my bag,  I stood petrified.

• Feelings of surprise: Is when something surprise us,  for example when the twin towers in New York collapsed, everyone was flabbergasted.

Another feelings as taken aback or dumbstruck

• Feelings angry : Is when something makes us angry. often this feeling makes us feel bad and everything in us changes. Others feelings are livid, furious or outraged

I think that sometimes is important to express our feelings like happines because because it makes us feel good  and reflects our whole body. But whe we feel angry sometimes is important control us because there are people who say or do things they should not, that's why we must first let the anger and then talk. However, other feelings like surprise or amazement we cannot control because  happens in the moment

Unit 9

People with vision

In this world there were people that contributed much to humanity as scientific, writers, musicians, painters.  Persons like leonardo da vinci, Beethoven, Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton. Were great people who have vision, goals in life, and became recognized worldwide for their great skills. 


Isaac Newton

Born on January 4, 1643, in Woolsthorpe, England, Isaac Newton was an established physicist and mathematician, and is credited as one of the great minds of the 17th century Scientific Revolution. With discoveries in optics, motion and mathematics, Newton developed the principles of modern physics. In 1687, he published his most acclaimed work, Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy)

Albert Einstein

Born in Ulm, Württemberg, Germany in 1879, Albert Einstein developed the special and general theories of relativity. In 1921, he won the Nobel Prize for physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect. Einstein is generally considered the most influential physicist of the 20th century. He died on April 18, 1955, in Princeton, New Jersey.(bio., 2015)

Leonardo Da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci was a leading artist and intellectual of the Italian Renaissance who's known for his enduring works "The Last Supper" and "Mona Lisa."

Born on April 15, 1452, in Vinci, Italy, Leonardo da Vinci was concerned with the laws of science and nature, which greatly informed his work as a painter, sculptor, inventor and draftsmen. His ideas and body of work—which includes "Virgin of the Rocks," "The Last Supper," "Leda and the Swan" "—have influenced countless artists and made da Vinci a leading light of the Italian Renaissance.(bio., 2015)

In the old days there were great artist but currently there are people who have made new technologies or try to make improvements to the world such as robots, organ transplants, DNA, vaccines, disease control, where there are great doctors and scientists specialized working on it. As the world progresses and new needs are appearing

That's why people in this world must  have vision, goals, dreams,  able to accomplish what they want and work on it.  As well as the artists who worked hard before, now must have great artist who contribute to humanity.

Unit 8

Problems and issues

Giant corporations: In the big cities like US, Russia, Germany, England exist giant corporation which dedicate to different things and are created more often, some end up causing heavy pollution like  factories that generates humo or large buildings. 

Global warming: global warming is an increase in temperature due to pollution, among other gases that cause greenhouse gases, melting icecaps, loss of the ozone layer. This affects both us and animals and the environment.

Pollution: Environmental pollution occurs when several harmful gases to health, both chemical, biological and physical alter the environment in which we live. It is considered that an environment is contaminated when they change their characteristics and threatens the health of living beings and the quality of natural resources.

Environmental contamination can occur both natural contaminants such as human action. The human being is the main culprit for the pollution of rivers, sea, air and land by industrial, commercial, agricultural, home and mobile activities. (Inspiraction, 2009)

Oil spill: An oil spill is oil, discharged accidentally or intentionally, that floats on the surface of water bodies as a discrete mass and is carried by the wind, currents and tides. Oil spills can be partially controlled by chemical dispersion, combustion, mechanical containment and adsorption. They have destructive effects on coastal ecosystems (Terms, 2001).

I think it is very important to take care and take action on what suffers the earth. is certainly always going to have problems like pollution, natural disasters that harm us, however all should contribute to make it a better world.

Unit 7

The natural world

The animals I think that always going to be the most important in the world. Exist different types of animals that live in different places in the case of Costa Rica there is an nature preserve that live animals like monkeys, birds, tigers.

Wild animals are the animals that can’t live with the humans for example they live in forest.  And animals like rabbits, some birds, hamsters can live in a cage with the human. 

Some people practice hunting animals maybe for the fur trade, I do not agree with this because they kill innocent animals. or in the large companies where do experiments with animals especially with mice or monkeys for to test a drug and for now the reaction in humans.

The animals in endangered the world try to care y preserve the specie for example the panda bear, white Rhinoceros,  white elephant or tigers.

I think that the world should worry more and care the animals and leave the animals by habitat type. Like domestic animals that are of great company for human well as dog, cat or rabbit.

Unit 6

Understanding power

In all the countries exist a type of architecture which attract attention of people. Some are very old and other current and striking. Others represent history like monuments, ideology like castles, cathedrals or in another's case pyramids and skyscrapers.

Great Pyramid of Egypt, also known as the Great Pyramid of Cheops was elected Wonder for being the oldest and the only one still lingers of the Wonders of the Ancient World. Being the most famous and largest of all the pyramids of Egypt, considered one of the most impressive buildings of the entire story. It is located on the outskirts of Cairo-Egypt on Giza Plateau, 12 kilometers from the city. (Ikiwaner, 2011)

The forbidden was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the center of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum. For nearly 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their families, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government. (mundo, 2011) 

The pentagon Across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., stands the Pentagon, headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense and a five-sided concrete and steel symbol of America’s military strength. Encompassing more than 6 million square feet of floor space, the Pentagon ranks among the largest office buildings in the world. (History, 2015)

Making money

Vocabulary

•        Most people have dreams or goals and among one of them is make money. All study a career and eventually get a job, as time passes have money, and with much effort and dedication we can come into a fortune.

•          Haggled is when you discuss with a seller the price of something may be for change the prize. I think it happens more in the markets because there are great quantity of sellers that are interest in change the price.

•            The stock market is when an institution there is sellers and buyers these ones interact to reach an agreement, make exchanges.

•           In all the jobs the employees need have a raise, to comply their needs. This is why most employees request and the boss of work should raise the salary.

•        High-income is when a person either for a business, have high inflows of money. and this can be affect for the taxes.

•      Paid on commission is when a person is paid for a selling or for accomplish with something required.

•      Many institutions and business went bankrupt for different reasons as lack of money or lack of required compliance.

Unit 4

Moving forward

As the years pass, the man always trying to make improvements or advance technology. Trying to improve the lives and seeking new ways to update what we use.

For example in the medicine, the medics and scientific try to search for ways to improve the quality of life with organ transplants and using artificial organs also for people who lose an arm or leg to replace it with an artificial one having the same functions and anterior movement. The Scientifics try to do a genetic engineering breakthrough. Diseases are always new viruses, bacteria, and fungi appear. Man always tries to move forward and improve with medicines to detain these evils.

Computers also have progressed for example computers now exists where one can talk to them, also those that are tactile and transparent. At another point, there are already flying cars and robots with great intelligence that can speak, walk and understand.

I think the advancement of technology in all fields is very good because it improves our lives and new discoveries are made
